Gourmet Grilled Cheese: Turkey, Berry, Brie
Here is another gourmet grilled cheese crowd pleaser for munchkins and adults. This delicious combination is great for our current weather and leads me to think of ways to channel the upcoming Thanksgiving feast.
Another Saturday, another sandwich. We spent much of the morning wandering around the best grocery store ever, Wegmans. We sampled, chatted with the ever-friendly staff, sampled some more, and then bought some groceries.

As part of a normal grocery run we picked up some honey roasted turkey breast, Italian bread, and some brie (for a fun pizza this weekend). On the very short drive home the girls were begging for a “special sandwich” for lunch so I threw this combo together on the fly.
They were eager to “help” and I have to admit it is far less stressful to let them help then to try and prevent it. There is always the added bonus they are more likely to eat what they make and it is actually quite a bit of fun to get us all experimenting with simple flavor combos.
The Sandwich
This one is another simple grilled cheese sandwich that would be easy to switch up with something you have on hand.
Ingredients
- Fresh Italian bread (you can use your preferred bread)
- Mild Brie
- Triple Berry Fruit Spread (or cranberry…mmmm)
- Butter
- Organic Honey Roasted Turkey (I try to stick to lunch meat without added nitrates)
Put it all Together
Just assemble the sandwich.
- Put the triple berry spread on one side of a slice of bread
- Smear brie on the other slice
- Put 2-3 slices of turkey on the bread
- Coat the outside of each slice in real butter
- Grill until warm and golden
Bonus: While you are waiting you can snack on some fresh bread, brie, and fruit spread. Delicious.
